Samurai Cat vs Corny

gouache

This was done as a birthday card for my brother, who lived in the midwest at the time. With acres and acres of corn filling the state, it’s a foregone conclusion that at least one ear (or more? …) would be mutated by cosmic rays and go on a rampage among the humans. Fortunately, the modern-day descendant of an ancient line of cat samurai is on hand to fight for justice.

Or something like that. Gouache on card stock, cut to shape.

Great, I live in Ohio and see corn fields form time to time (not all of Ohio is as rural as you’d think). Now I have to watch my back!

The corn creature has a Bert from Sesame Street look to him. Hmmm, monster versions of Sesame Street character (that aren’t monsters)… might be a good theme.

I’d hate to see him after he got to near a microwave tower.

Redefines Children of the Corn for sure! Very creative, I like the fact that a cat warrior has been chosen to fight this guy.

ScottRa – there should be a live preview of your comment below the comment post box. I will look into comment editing as well.

Edit: I just added a comment editor plugin for the site, let me know if anyone encounters any issues.
